Negeria's E-mail Scamm

Have you been a victim of an e-mail scam?
Have you receiced a Spam in your Inbox, tha came from an unknown person begging for help? asking for money in order to get a million bucks from the bank account of a certain person who recently die and no one who inherit the money, only you if you help them by sending money.

I received a lot of spam saying that I won a lottery, or any other alibi and so on, I just ignore them not just because I don't believe but because I don't have money in the bank to send them. Their email sometimes so enticing. I thanks God I don't have money. If ever I have a money in the bank maybe I am a victim too. But latter I realized that maybe its a scam because I never join any lottery, os even it too good to be true.

Even in my cell phone  I received a text message informing me that I won a lottery or that my cell phone nunber was one of the winner of their random electronic lottery draw, but I jus ignore all of this because its already alarming that its too good to be true, but the most alarming here is they always requiring me to deposite a certain ammount for me to get the money that I won.. maybe they think that I'm one of the sucker to bite their bait..

Here are some of the videos from youtube about the scammer.

Chicken Adobo

Use Philippine native vinegar called sukang "paumbong" .

1 tsp. Salt ( cut down on this if use garlic salt instead)
1/4 tsp. Black Pepper (add more if desired)

1/2 Cup of water

1 Bay Leaf

1-2 tbsp. Soy Sauce (low sodium)

simmer uncovered for 10-15 minutes, or until chicken is done and liquid is reduced to desired
consistency.  You can add the optional cornstarch mixture for a thicker sauce.

Microsoft Says Leap Year Bug Caused Zune Failures

Imagine this: You're gearing up to create a killer playlist on your 30GB Zune for your annual New Year's celebration. All of a sudden, your Zune locks up, reboots itself, and freezes.

In September, Microsoft released the Zune 3.0 software and firmware update along with its newest hardware, the Zune 120GB and 16GB models. At the time, Microsoft mentioned that it would be phasing out the older models slowly, but the company didn't say the change would be this dramatic.

As early as yesterday evening, reports of 30GB crashing began to surface on Microsoft support forums and gadget blogs. Microsoft updated the Zune support Web site with the following acknowledgement: "Customers with 30GB Zune devices may experience issues when booting their Zune hardware. We're aware of the problem and are working to correct it. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your patience!"

A widespread issue affecting your 2006 model Zune 30GB devices (a large number of which are still actively being used). The technical team jumped on the problem immediately and isolated the issue: a bug in the internal clock driver related to the way the device handles a leap year.

The issue should be resolved over the next 24 hours as the time change moves to January 1, 2009. Expect the internal clock on the Zune 30GB devices will automatically reset tomorrow (noon, GMT). By tomorrow you should allow the battery to fully run out of power before the unit can restart successfully then simply ensure that your device is recharged, then turn it back on.

If you're a Zune Pass subscriber, you may need to sync your device with your PC to refresh the rights to the subscription content you have downloaded to your device.

Customers can continue to stay informed via the support page on zune.net (zune.net/support).We know this has been a big inconvenience to our customers and we are sorry for that, and want to thank them for their patience."

GOAT, Bigger, more vigorous goats

The domestic goat (Capra aegagrus hircus) is a subspecies of goat domesticated from the wild goat of  southwest Asia and Eastern Europe. The goat is a member of the Bovidae family and is closely related to the sheep: both are in the goat ante-lope subfamily Caprinae. There are over three hundred distinct breeds of goats.
Goats are one of the oldest domesticated species. For thousands of years, goats have been used for their milk, meat, hair, and skins over much of the world. In the last century they have also gained some popularity as pets.
Female goats are referred to as does or nannies, intact males as bucks or billies; their offspring are kids. Castrated males are wethers. Goat meat from younger animals is called kid, and from older animals is sometimes called chevon, or in some areas "mutton".

Bigger and more vigorous goats now roaming the greenfields of Ilocandia.
Those robust ruminants are results of a project started in the Ilocos Region four years ago.
Called "Community-based Participatory Action Research (CPAR) GoatAgribusiness Development Project in Region I", the venture is being implemented under the auspices of the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Unit I-Ilocos Integrated Agricultural Research Center (DA-RPU-ILLIARC).
Supported by the DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR), the project aims to enhance productivity and profitability on goat-raising through Integrated Goat Management Technology (IGMT). Specifically, it seeks to develop and improve the small hold goat venture into an agribusiness development project, and establish goat multiplier farms.
A report on the research and development (R&D) project authored by a DA-RFU  I-ILIARC team heads by Melinda G. Calumpit won the Best Paper award in the recent 2008 National Research Symposium (NRS) organized by DA-BAR headed by Director Nicomendes P. Eleazar.
The DA-RFU I-ILIARC researchers reported that the project's capability building activities enabled the Ilocos farmers.
In 2005 - 2007 , 586 farmers in the four Ilocos Provinces, Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte embraced the project.
Three multiplier farms have also been established in Alaminos City, Sta. Barbara, in pangasinan; and in Candon City, Ilocos Sur.

An appeal from Wikipedia founder, Jimmy Wales

This Is His Appeal Letter to the Reader

Imagine a world in which every single person on the planet is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge.
— Jimmy Wales, Founder of Wikipedia

An appeal from Wikipedia founder, Jimmy Wales

Jimmy Wales
Dear Reader,
Today I am going to ask you to support Wikipedia with a donation. This might sound unusual: Why does one of the world's five most popular web properties ask for financial support from its users?
Wikipedia is built differently from almost every other top 50 website. We have a small number of paid staff, just twenty-three. Wikipedia content is free to use by anyone for any purpose. Our annual expenses are less than six million dollars. Wikipedia is run by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, which I founded in 2003.
At its core, Wikipedia is driven by a global community of more than 150,000 volunteers - all dedicated to sharing knowledge freely. Over almost eight years, these volunteers have contributed more than 11 million articles in 265 languages. More than 275 million people come to our website every month to access information, free of charge and free of advertising.
But Wikipedia is more than a website. We share a common cause: Imagine a world in which every single person on the planet is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge. That's our commitment.
Your donation helps us in several ways. Most importantly, you will help us cover the increasing cost of managing global traffic to one of the most popular websites on the Internet. Funds also help us improve the software that runs Wikipedia -- making it easier to search, easier to read, and easier to write for. We are committed to growing the free knowledge movement world-wide, by recruiting new volunteers, and building strategic partnerships with institutions of culture and learning.
Wikipedia is different. It's the largest encyclopedia in history, written by volunteers. Like a national park or a school, we don't believe advertising should have a place in Wikipedia. We want to keep it free and strong, but we need the support of thousands of people like you.
I invite you to join us: Your donation will help keep Wikipedia free for the whole world.
Thank you,
Jimmy Wales

Saudis movies after 30 years

After 30 years since movies are banned in Saudi, finally they will enjoy it again.
They howled, clapped and ate popcorn as a normal movie goers do scene elsewhere, but revolutionary in Saudi Arabia where films have not played in public for decades.
Massive lines snaked out from the King Abdul Aziz Cultural Centre as Jedda residents queued up to see the first film open to public after 30 years, hoping the event heralded a big change in the ultra-conservative kingdom's stunted cultural scene.
Negotiations with senior political officials and the religious police, the Red Sea port of Jeddah and the nearby city of Taif allowed the Rotana entertainment group owned by the powerful Saudi tycoon Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, to show its new comedy "Manahi" for nine days.
The result was overwhelming, the 1,200 seats hall hardly meeting the demand for the $4 tickets for each showing.
Decades ago movie lovers in Saudi Arabia would crowd into clubs and halls to watch the same movies enjoyed throughout the Arab world.
But in the past 70s', clerics of the ultra conservative Wahhabist version of Islam which is practiced in the country cracked down and banned cenemas as having a corruption influence on society.
The taboo has been broken somewhat in recent years, with videos and satellite television, and movies shown surreptitiously at night in popular coffee shops.
Putting the film in Jeddah, a progressive city compared to its capital Riyadh, took the support of Prince Khalid al-Faisal, the powerful governor of the province of Mecca, himself a poet and supporter of the Arts. To see a movie in a real theatre, Saudis still have to travel to neighboring countries to watch the movie.
The local religious Police, from the feared commision for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, inspected the hall ahead of the scheduled scrrenings to ensure that women and men would be separated, following Saudi Arabia's strict rules of segregation between the sexes.
It was an adventure to see a movie in a place where there are no real cinemas, adding that it was exciting to see tha audience's thirst for a movie.

Eco-Friendly Printing Services

No matter what one would have us believe, printing services are still among the most sought after services. Even in this age of electronic communication and "paperless" offices, man has not be able to fully shrug off the need of paper. Printing jobs are still in need and printing press everywhere are always busy with a steady influx of orders everyday. This is also an age marked of an increased awareness about environmental issues. There is a strong effort anywhere to go green, stop environmental pollution and save the planet earth. This awareness has necessitated the need to take a  look into industrial and commercial organizations, which had been blamed for polluting the environment and depleting the earth’s natural resources. We have  to think how such harmful effects can be diminished and keep the planet earth green.
Like most production operations, printing houses also produce harmful wastes. Printing houses produce what are known as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), caused by the use of petroleum-based inks, laminates, varnishes and adhesives. Studies have shown that these compounds, when inhaled, greatly increase the risk of asthma attacks. As a result, measures are being adopted by many printing press worldwide to comply with existing regulations and adopt environment-friendly practices.
However, this is only half of what “eco-friendly printing services” are really all about. The issue of conservation is no less important than the need to stop polluting the environment. Eco-friendly printing is all about a successful merging of the two.
It is surprising to learn that the paper and printing industry ranks fourth among manufacturers in the amount of energy used. Producing paper and the electricity used for factory operations, as well as the actual printing process, demand lots of fossil fuels. Printers, thus, put a major strain on the planet, draining her natural resources in alarming magnitude.
Certified eco-friendly printing services keep track of the total energy usage and implement strategies for offsetting the environmental impact of their businesses. Their goal is to be “sustainable printers”, meaning they will be carefully planning operations to minimize electricity use, put a lighter drain on natural resources and source paper from companies certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) which is virtually synonymous with well-managed forests that adhere to strict environmental standards. It also means recycling the paper and other supplies whenever possible. That’s what “green printing” is all about.
By choosing eco-friendly printing services for all our printing needs, we can show that we really care about our environment and act as responsible citizens of this planet. It’s always comforting to know that we’re doing our part to protect the environment. It’s also reassuring to know that our printing requirements will not endanger the earth by adding toxics and harmful pollutants. Everybody should insist on printing green. After all, we all owe it to the planet that we can call home in this vast universe. Sending all our printing jobs to certified green printing press offering eco-friendly printing services can go a long way in helping conserve the environment and ensure a greener planet for our children.

BANANA CRAZE IN JAPAN

The Philippines should move faster and purposely to fill the shortage of bananas in the shelves of Japan, where the "Banana Morning Diet" has a big craze.
Due to the growing popularity of the Banana Morning Diet, Rep. Emmylou Talinio-Mendoza said that over the last six months, bananas have been flying off supermarket racks in Japan faster show they would be replenished.
Created by a pharmacist in Osaka, the Banana Morning Diet has become Fashionable in Japan on account of strong endorsement by celebrities there who have testimony about their sudden loss of weight.
The regimen starts with a banana with a glass of room temperature water for breakfast and anything for lunch and dinner. Desserts are not allowed after meals. A mid afternoon snack is fine. One must have a dinner at 8 p.m. and go to bed before midnight.
A market of approximately128 million people, Japan is the buyer of more than half of the annual Philippine banana exports. Japan imported 970,000 metric tons (MT) of bananas in 2007, mostly from the Philippines and partly from Taiwan.
Cotabato is one of the Philippine province that producing banana and other tropical Fruits . Cotabato has a large plantation run by tropical growers, including Standard Philippine Fruit Corp., a subsidiary of Dole Philippines Inc.
After Ecuador, Philippines is the world's biggest banana exporter, with a global market share of 16%. Last year the country shipped out around 1.905 million metric tons of $440 million worth of banana, or P18.1 billion based on $1:41.14 exchange rate at the end of 2007.
The Philippines' 2007 export banana volume was only 40 percent of the 4.65 million metric ton shipped out by Ecuador of the same year. Ecuador was 34 percent of the global banana export market in 2007.
Besides Ecuador, the Philippines' other rivals in banana export markets are India, Brazil, China, Indonesia, Costa Rica and Mexico.

Truth About Diet Soda

We talk a lot about ''watching what we eat,'' but if you never gave a thought to what you ate and instead watched only what you drank, you could probably cut 450 calories a day out of your life. (Yes, nearly a pound of fat loss a week!) That's what a study from the University of North Carolina found. Americans today drink about 192 gallons of liquid a year—or about 2 liters a day. To put it into perspective, this is nearly twice as many calories as we did 30 years ago.
When confronted with the growing tide of calories from sweetened beverages, the first response is, “Why not just drink diet soda?” Well, for a few reasons:
Just because diet soda is low in calories doesn't mean it can't lead to weight gain.
It may have only 5 or fewer calories per serving, but emerging research suggests that consuming sugary-tasting beverages--even if they're artificially sweetened--may lead to a high preference for sweetness overall. That means sweeter (and more caloric) cereal, bread, dessert--everything.
Guzzling these drinks all day long forces out the healthy beverages you need.
Diet soda is 100 percent nutrition-free, and again, it's just as important to actively drink the good stuff as it is to avoid that bad stuff. So one diet soda a day is fine, but if you're downing five or six cans, that means you're limiting your intake of healthful beverages, particularly water and tea.

There remain some concerns over aspartame, the low-calorie chemical used to give diet sodas their flavor.
Aspartame is 180 times sweeter than sugar, and some animal research has linked consumption of high amounts of the sweetener to brain tumors and lymphoma in rodents. The FDA maintains that the sweetener is safe, but reported side effects include dizziness, headaches, diarrhea, memory loss, and mood changes. Bottom line: Diet soda does you no good, and it might just be doing you wrong.

The best way to hydrate is by drinking low-calorie, high-nutrient fluids—and avoiding belt-busting beverages.

Now that you have a hold on your liquid assets, upgrade the rest of your grocery list by avoiding the 13 Worst "Healthy" Foods in the Supermarket. With so many items to choose from, it's easier to fall victim to packaged food lies than you think.

LPG Safe Cooking

Most of the households in the Philippines are using Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) particularly in urban and suburban areas in the country. To the full working Mother and wife , one hurriedly sending husband to work and children to school every morning, wakeup early and ease and swiftness is for cooking and LPG, is a necessary. Well, there maybe backwater places in the countryside of which still using firewood are used but I surmise majority of the Filipino household today use LPG.
However, not all are acquainted in the right handling of LPG, the threat it poses to life and limbs when careless and neglectful.
In the house we are using a safety gadget to prevent the accident, and we always make sure that the LPG valve is always closed after every use.
When the Prices of LPG soar high, we use firewood that we accumulated from our farm as a reserve when we don't have LPG..

Here are some safety tips from experts in properly handling the LPG to avoid unnecessary damages:

1. Do not store LPG cylinders in enclosed kitchen cabinet without proper ventilation.
2. Keep LPG cylinders away from electrical points and other sources of fire and ignition.
3. Do not invert LPG cylinders or let it lie horizontally on the floor.
4. Use only LPG resistant rubber hoses with clamps and regularly check for water, cracks and leaks.

If you smell gas in your kitchen:

1. Do not switch on/off electrical switches or connect/ disconnect electrical plugs.
2. open all doors and improve ventilation.
3. Turn off regulators and remove cylinders. Use soapy water to test for leaks.
4. If cylinders is leaking, move it out to open and well-ventilated place.

Authorities also advise consumers to buy only LPG with cylinder bearing the PS Quality Mark and check if security seal is intact and firmly affixe to the valve. LPG must be checked if it has correct weight. The government requires retailers of LPG to have weighing scales in their stores. Consumers are advised to report to the Department of Energy (DOE) any underweighing and adultercation cases.
Yes , it is now very comfortable to cook our favorite dishes using LPG fuel, an advantage we have over forefathers. But let us not always forget to think of the safety of our families and our properties.
